Nigerian Anglicans, accept gays as southern Anglicans do

I seriously wish that the Anglican Church of Nigeria would put aside its hypocrisy, intolerance, and the hate they preach and promote. To do that, they should look to the gesture of acceptance by the Anglican Church of Southern Africa.

Then they would see the need to embrace true diversity and would  display a deeper level of wisdom by recognizing and extending a warm spirit of love and compassion to its already-bruised members who are already struggling with their sexual orientation and who seek to be free from the bubble that the church has placed them in. Those church members long for respect, dignity and liberation. They desire not to be discriminated against on the basis of their sexual orientation.

The church fails to understand that the real evil is hate and discrimination. It  brings disunity. It discourages people. It deprives people of the right to live  their authentic lives.

Without living an authentic life, people cannot live up to their full potential. As a result, they become less productive and can contribute little to the church and to society. That leads them to a dysfunctional, frustrating and unfulfilling life.

  • The Anglican Church in some parts of the world is accepting homosexuality and endorsing same sex marriages.

This is a betrayal of the many baptised members who for years and followed and supported the church because they believed it was a solid Christian organization based upon the Bible. Some were married in the church and had their children baptised there. Now they find it is a faith they can no longer endorse. Their hearts are torn out.

How can educated Anglican clergy who professed to believe the Bible is the Word of God and promised by accepting ordination in that church to defend the Holy Scriptures now deny and act
contrary to what the Bible says?

The Bible very clearly forbids homosexuality.

    Leviticus 18:22

    Romans 1:26,27

    1 Corinthians 6:9,10

    1 Timothy 1:9,19

    Jude 1:7.

In Biblical Christianity we cannot make our own laws as we go along, and change the laws to suit society. The church represents Christ on earth. It speaks for God in this world. If Anglican ministers no longer believe the Bible and will not uphold the doctrines of the church they have denied the faith. The only honorable thing for them to do is gracefully resign and withdraw from the religious life.

Someday they will be judged by the Word of God along with their congregations.

The Bible says: “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20)

    Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist
