These are photos from the Uganda pride parade and celebrations on Aug. 4, including photos of the arrival of Entebbe police who disrupted the gathering and detained many attendees. Photos were taken by David Robinson and provided by the event’s grand marshal, Jamaican LGBT activist Maurice Tomlinson.
The published photos show only the police and people who have been prominent in LGBT rights activities. Photos showing identifiable likenesses of other people have been withheld from publication to protect them from potential reprisals.
