Raina Aliev, a transgender woman, was reported killed early this month, three days after marrying her husband. The murder reportedly took place after her Muslim father, Alimshaikh Aliev, called for his daughter’s execution on a Russian TV station, referring to Raina Aliev as “him.”

“Let him be killed, I don’t want to see him,” Alimshaikh Aliev said. “Bring him here and kill him in front of my eyes.” Raina Aliev moved to Moscow after completing her education. Pink News reported two versions of where she met her husband, Viktor — either in Moscow or in the primarily Muslim Karachaevo-Cherkessiya region.

Her body was reportedly hacked to pieces, leaving her virtually unrecognizable. The specifics of the death and the motivation were under investigation.
