Despite the Amnesty International campaign for his release, Jean-Claude Roger Mbede of Cameroon remains imprisoned for violating the country’s laws against homosexual activities.

His appeal was scheduled for Monday, April 16, but it was delayed for unspecified “administrative reasons,” according to a source close to Mbede’s defense team.

A new date for the appeal has not been set.

Last year, Mdebe was sentenced to three  years in prison for homosexuality.
