“I am one of those people who can say that I am in-between worlds, somebody who stands within the binary of genders.”

So says Seyi Adebanjo, a queer, gender-non-conforming Nigerian, on the No Strings podcast, which is a voice for the LGBT community in  Nigeria.

On the podcast, Adebanjo discusses challenges of  changing one’s identity, living a double life, what it means to be queer, and dealing with hate.

Podcast host Mike Daemon notes that Adebanjo discusses “how people constantly confuse them for something else or try really hard to gender them up.” He then adds, “Want to know the reason why I … use the term ‘they’ and ‘them’ when talking about Seyi?” If so, listen to the podcast, which can be downloaded or streamed.
