Two men in Abu Dhabi were sentenced to six months in prison, followed by deportation, for kissing on a public widewalk, the Emirates 24/7 website reported.
They were charged with public indecency under United Arab Emirates law.
Two years ago, a straight British couple was similarly sentenced to one month in prison for kissing in a restaurant in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai.
They were convicted of “inappropriate behavior and illegal drinking,” the Huffington Post reported.
